Senior Quality Platform Engineer

Job Details

We’re moving beyond traditional testing. Quality at our organization is not a gate; it’s a platform. As a Senior Quality Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the internal tooling, automation, workflows, and quality infrastructure that empower teams to ship faster, safer, and with higher confidence. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, and quality strategy. You won’t just write tests — you’ll build the systems that ensure quality is scalable, observable, measurable, and baked into every stage of development. If you’re passionate about enabling teams, reducing friction, and approaching quality like a product, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Platform & Tooling Develop and maintain the Quality Platform: frameworks, libraries, pipelines, and integrations that enable high-quality delivery. Build reusable, language-agnostic automation libraries and internal SDKs. Own CI/CD quality gates, test orchestration, and smart execution logic (e.g., test selection, caching, parallelisation). Implement and maintain recording/playback tools, contract testing, visual regression engines, and observability hooks. Handle AI & Innovation for Quality Engineering workflows. Developer Experience Improve feedback loops in local dev, PRs, staging, and production. Create self-service tooling for engineers to generate tests, diagnose failures, and validate changes quickly. Embed quality signals into engineering workflows (e.g., risk scoring, flakiness insights, coverage intelligence). Reliability & Quality Intelligence Build systems that convert quality noise into actionable insights. Own metrics dashboards: flakiness, failure cause classification, performance trends, release confidence. Partner with our Infrastructure team to implement resilience tests (chaos, reliability gates, SLIs/SLOs). Guardrails & Governance Define and codify standards that scale across teams (naming conventions, folder structure, selector strategies, logging). Turn rules into automated guardrails rather than documentation. Work closely with our Infrastructure team to ensure safe automation practices, secrets handling, and permissions. Paved Roads Create “golden paths” for developers: Out-of-the-box test setup Generated mocks & fixtures Recommended patterns and linting rules Fully managed test environments What Success Looks Like Developers spend more time building features and less time fighting tests. Release confidence increases while cycle time decreases. Flakiness is tracked, understood, and eliminated at its root. Teams can self-serve 90% of testing and quality workflows. Quality signals become central to engineering decisions. The organization views Quality as a platform, not a department.
